The first impression of the right to my opinion is that I'm in a state of understanding and curiosity. So far, it seems like something that would spark a bit of discussion. I'm excited to see what'll be some of the responses of my peers.
Jean Valjean in this chapter made me believe that he did undergo a change. I've never once read that someone was using learning to convert it to master the ways of evil. I can see how instinct was playing a big part in how the process Jean Valjean went through to come out different than when he first got into prison.
